Gators Continue 2014 Outdoor Campaign at USA Outdoors in Sacramento

Cory McGee, along with current and former Gators, will be in action at USA Outdoors in Sacramento June 26-29

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- After wrapping up the 2014 outdoor track and field season in Eugene, Ore., the Gators are back in action again this week at the 2014 USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships in Sacramento, Calif.

 

The Orange and Blue had impressive top-five finishes on both the men’s and women’s sides at the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships and the team looks to continue its success at Sacramento State University’s Hornet Stadium July 25-29. The 2014 USATF Outdoor Championships will bring the nation’s best athletes to Northern California while also serving as the final stop on of the 2014 Outdoor USATF Championship Series. Gators in action will start competition Thursday and continue throughout the weekend.

 

Representing Florida Saturday will be the Gators very own Bowerman Semifinalist Dedric Dukes in the first round of the 200m, with semis and finals slated for Sunday. Dukes sped to the 200m crown in a wind-aided 19.91 seconds at the 2014 NCAA Championships in Eugene last week – the fourth-fastest 200m in NCAA Championships history. Dukes additionally anchored UF’s 4x1 to the 2014 national title and was on UF’s runner-up 4x4 relay as the Orange and Blue were the NCAA Championships runner-up on the men’s side in Oregon. Coming off a championship weekend in Eugene, Dukes looks to continue his success Saturday in Sacramento.
