INDIANAPOLIS -- Kaylin Whitney has been named USATF’s Athlete of the Week after a setting two high school bests, a world youth best and the fifth fastest American junior time at the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships last weekend in Eugene, Oregon, July 5-6.
Whitney (Clermont, Florida), started her impressive weekend in the 100 meters, setting the fastest high school women’s time in the event with a wind legal 11.17 in the first heat of prelims. The 16-year-old high school sophomore capped off Day One by setting the fifth fastest American Junior time in history, 11.10 to capture the title.
