Chapel Hill and Durham's Blake Williams early favorites in NC...Published by

The statewide N.C. High School Athletic Association boys cross country championships are expected to be as close in 2010 as they were in 2009 when Sanderson nipped Broughton 89-92 in the championship race.
Leesville Road comes out as the 4-A favorite in a preseason projection by Ben Hovis of NCRunners.com, but the field looks very close, with West Johnston, Broughton and Green Hope in the state hunt as well.
Blake Williams of Northern Durham was eighth in the finals but came on strong in the Southeastern qualifying race for the Foot Locker National Championships and enters the season as the guy to beat.
