Top 5 girls' track and field teams to watch in 2014

SARASOTA
The Sailors boast a solid core of young distance runners that turned in an outstanding cross country season last fall. Angelina Grebe, Sage Lyons, Allison Wright, Emily Harding and Mackenzie Brown will all have an impact this spring. Moreover, all can compete at a variety of distances.

RIVERVIEW
The Rams lost a pair of blue-chippers to graduation last spring. Kehtura Merrick, also a member of the Riverview basketball team, won the Class 4A state title in the discus with a throw of 120-7 and Madison Schmidt was an 11-6 pole-vaulter who finished third at the state meet. Alison Gollnick is solid in the shot and discus. The Rams are led by HTPreps.com Track and Field Coach of the Year Jason Means.
